(Anchorage, AK, United States) Incumbent will provide Web Development services using RUBY on RAILS. Provide database application support to develop, maintain, and enhance computer software applications to collect and maintain enterprise data that supports the Bureau's mission. Participate as part of a software development team that develops statewide database applications for collection and maintenance of data as well as data reporting systems that may include spatial components. Oracle Spatial is a plus but not required. Provide development and/or maintenance of computer applications that use Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) for web-based applications. Utilize Structured Query Language (SQL) to interface with Oracle RDBMS. Application development will include security and access components, data entry screens, query screens, reports, and data import/export programs. Incumbent will be responsible for design, development, testing, and implementation of assigned programs.
This is a Public Trust Position and requires a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) conducted by OPM. Prior or recent DOD/OPM equivalent clearance is desired to expedite this process, but is not required.
Position requires experience following data management policies, guides, or handbooks and adhering to configuration management and life cycle management guidelines. Experience with customers working in ITIL or CMMI environment is desired. Ability to demonstrate, train, document and provide user support and maintenance for application products that are developed and provide weekly written status reports is expected
